Book Review: The Surrogate By Louise Jensen

‘You know that feeling? When you want something so badly, you almost feel you’d kill for it?’

Be careful what you wish for…

Kat and her husband Nick have tried everything to become parents, and are on the point of giving up. Then a chance encounter with Kat’s childhood friend Lisa gives Kat and Nick one last chance to achieve their dream.

But Kat and Lisa’s history hides dark secrets.

And there is more to Lisa than meets the eye.

As dangerous cracks start to appear in Kat’s perfect picture of happily-ever-after, she realises that she must face her fear of the past to save her family…

Interesting concept.

This novel had me doubting the main character Kat half of the time with her paranoia and just wanting to know what will happen by the end of it already.

This novel has turned out to be a twisty and suspenseful novel that is also a psychological thriller.
It was as if you are on the crazy train not sure what you are about to encounter next.

I really did enjoy this novel and the cliff-hangers it had. I am not giving much of the actual plot away because I think it is best if you go into it not knowing much.

The fact that once you think you have someone all figured out, the author sets you off that track with a different twist.

Overall, this was an enjoyable and exciting moderately paced read. Full of surprises, twists and turns.
